Qal'bu Maryam had its open house on Saturday March 4, 2017 from 7 – 9 pm. We had speakers, music, a dance performance, and Zikr. It was such a beautiful interfaith event with about 40 people practicing radical inclusivity, singing, dancing, and learning about Islam while celebrating that we have secured a home that will serve and empower those targeted by the institutionalized sexism of the larger culture. We give thanks to Bishop Yvette Flunder, City of Refuge, United Church of Christ and The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries for helping us find our temporary home. Now we have a permanent place for worship at Starr King School for the Ministry at 2441 Le Conte Avenue in Berkeley, California. Thank you Dr. Gabriella Lettini for spearheading this and the school's generosity. We are so appreciative of the funds, religious books, and art they have been donated.
